What would you like to do as a volunteer?
Studenterhuset’s café & bar is run by a large team of volunteers, supported by a smaller group of employees. Each semester, there are between 150 and 200 volunteers at Studenterhuset.
The volunteers are both Danish and international students, creating an international atmosphere with opportunities to meet students from all over the world.
As a volunteer, you work in the bar, ensure guests are comfortable, and spread good vibes in our cozy house.
As a volunteer at the Language Café, you will host a table where you will converse with others in Danish or another language you speak fluently.
No teaching experience is required—just the ability to talk with people. Each shift lasts 3 hours. You must be a student and able to take at least one shift per month.
Are you passionate about concerts, sound, and lighting? Do you want to help shape Studenterhuset’s music program and learn how to organize and execute concerts and festivals?
Join Studenterhuset’s volunteer booking and event management group and help plan a series of concerts. The group consists of 4-6 volunteers who participate in planning and executing concerts along with one of the house’s paid organizers and a professional sound technician.
Execution includes operating the house’s lighting equipment and assisting musicians and technicians with various tasks. You will be trained on our equipment and gain general skills in event management and booking.
Do you love capturing the good atmosphere in pictures and videos, and are you a social media whiz? Then we’re looking for you! There’s always something happening at Studenterhuset.
We host lectures, concerts, parties, and more, and we want to share the fantastic atmosphere with our followers on Instagram and Facebook.
We expect you to take about two shifts a month at times that fit into your schedule.
Every year, more than 300 volunteer students and staff help create the framework for the annual KU Festival.
You must be a student or staff member at the University of Copenhagen to volunteer.
As a volunteer at the KU Festival, you should expect to take a 3-4 hour shift during the festival. Most shifts are in the bar or entrance, and you can choose the tasks and times you prefer.
We reward you with food and drink tickets, a t-shirt, a fun day, and eternal gratitude.
As a student, it can be difficult to make ends meet.
Additionally, it can be a bit lonely always eating alone in your dorm room or small student apartment. That’s why at Community Kitchen, you can enjoy an affordable meal and meet students from all over Copenhagen.
At “Rodebutikken”, students can drop off items they no longer use and perhaps find something they can benefit from. This could include study books, clothing, or kitchenware. Rodebutikken makes it easy for students to reuse items in their daily lives.
“Rodebutikken” is the Faculty of Social Sciences’ volunteer-run swapping station focused on recycling. The project is about reusing instead of throwing away. In addition to providing students with a practical recycling solution on campus, “Rodebutikken” also becomes a social space where students can meet their peers over a cup of coffee and learn about sustainability and the circular economy.
Do you want to join our volunteer family?
You can volunteer in one of our many volunteer options, and as a volunteer, you can always contribute your own ideas, and most things are possible.
At byStudents, volunteers play the most important role. Our many volunteers help create our inclusive and safe culture, organise exciting events around the city, and fill Studenterhuset on Købmagergade with life and a good atmosphere. Through our many different activities, our goal is to make Copenhagen the best city for students.
