Studenterhuset is a café, event, and venue with study spaces located in the city center, right by the Round Tower. It’s a place where students can meet across universities and disciplines. Good coffee and a selection of other drinks are available at affordable, student-friendly prices. Studenterhuset is a house for students and by students. This is reflected in both the activities that take place in the house and the way it is run.

The calendar is filled with events, all aimed at engaging young people and students in Copenhagen in various ways. These include events like communal kitchens, swing dances, quizzes, talks, parties, karaoke, and concerts. In other words, there’s something for everyone.

The place is run by a large team of volunteers, supported by a small group of staff. Each semester, there are between 150 and 200 students who are all volunteers at Studenterhuset and who keep the house running.

The volunteers include Danish students who are completing their entire education in Copenhagen, as well as international students who are either on exchange or full-time students in Copenhagen. This helps create an international atmosphere, with the opportunity to meet students from all over the world. Therefore, most of the events that take place at Studenterhuset are in English, as there is a desire to include international students in the community.

We also offer mentoring activities and other events that give international students a good introduction to and understanding of Copenhagen as a study city.

As a student at the University of Copenhagen, you are automatically a member of Studenterhuset and receive extra advantageous prices on beverages, snacks, and other items in the café. If you are a student at another educational institution, you can become a member and enjoy the same benefits as KU students.

At Studenterhuset, we are constantly working to become more sustainable. We continuously strive to minimize our own carbon footprint by limiting our consumption of water, electricity, plastic, paper, etc., and by selecting sustainable products for the café.
